Novak Djokovic is a one dimensional hardcourter

For all the fawning and dick sucking of Nole this year and some of last year, he has proven nothing but to be a hardcourter who fails against the big boys on clay and grass.

Its funny. When a player like Djokovic wins a hardcourt slam, for some reason he is projected to do well on all surfaces? But when someone like Nadal wins on clay, no one predicts him to win on other surfaces? Another example of the hardcourt bias in tennis, but thats for another thread.

The point is that if Nadal is just a claycourter with all his non-clay results, then how the fuck is Djokovic an "all-surface" player?

Djokovic has lost 3 straight times to Nadal and the only clay thing he won was when he had a mug draw and didn't beat anyone in the top 20. Whenever he played Fed or Nadal, he LOST.

Djokovic is nothing but a hardcourter.

Re: Novak Djokovic is a one dimensional hardcourter

Well, the guy had obviously two great years , but I still really do not consider him as a player beeing capable of winning multiple slams.
He has quickly came to the top and I think that he will drop also very quickly.
It may not happen this year, but I am sure it will happen in the next two years.

The crisis must come in a part of his tennis career, and I am not sure that he is capable of handling it quite well.

Once Murrays, Gasquets, Verdascos and others, learn how to beat him, he will fall down and remain to the rankings which I find appropriate for him and his game/talent. That is 20-30 on a ATP list.

Bit harsh considering his good grass and clay record. Though it can be argued his success on these surfaces is due to a lack of good grass and clay specialists in this era, but that makes his hardcourt achievements more laudable surely.

Do you know that the Faker hasn't beat anyone inside top10 on clay except Robredo ?

Why the double standards though? Nadal has won 3 TMS on hardcourts, just won Quenns, and reached the QF of USO and SF of AO, more than Djokovic has done on clay or grass, and yet Djokovic is the one considered the "all-court" player?

evidently making the semis of last 5 slams (that means all surfaces) he has played means nothing to you.

the guy just turned 21. why be so hasty in handing out death sentences. do you not see that he can play on any surface and he is closing in on #2.

now i am not a djokovic fan but i do see considerable potential and a tremendous game for somebody barely 21.

who else is bold enough and confident enough to want to bring the fight to Fed and Nadal?

he has beaten Fed at a slam semi and he has beaten Nadal at least 3 times. how many players coming up can boast that?

So i can't say he is overrated but you can praise him to the moon? Bullshit.

He is not as good off hard courts as people like to think.

What does that matter? he is 3-9 against Nadal and 2-6 against Fed, and has lost his last 4 matches against them

I won't believe Djokovic is one-dimensional unless Federer verifies it.

Safin managed to do that, proof that's not that a big deal...
