Question World #1, #2 and #4 win titles in same week. a first ?

pretty sure this has never happened before, and highly unlikely to be done in future also.

Federer wins Halle
Nadal wins Queens
and Davydenko wins in Warsaw

Might be a first.

In '82, McEnroe and Lendl won in the same week i.e. week of 9/20/82 and I think they were either 1 and 2 or 1 and 3. They also won in the same week in January (1/25/82). Connors and Lendl won in the same week (2/22/82) earlier that year and they were 2 and 3.

What makes it even more noteworthy is that both Roland Garros finalists won a title following week and on top of that, one losing finalist was RG semifinalist. In the past we were accustomed to that those who did well in RG tended to disappear from the view until summer clay season, sometimes skipping grass season altogether.

So what is this evidence for? Grass slowed down so much that claycourters can succeed on it? Era of truly great & well-rounded top players? Or just a era of clowns where only top 3 are noteworthy players and everyone else sucks?

That would be one of history

GO Roger Federer, Nick Kyrgios, Borna Coric, Vasek Pospisil, Thomaz Bellucci, Kei Nishikori, , Milos Raonic, Jerzy Janowicz, Grigor Dimitrov, Dennis Novikov and Bernard Tomic

Thiem will be top three by Dec 2016
Borna Coric will be No 1 by Dec 2017
Nick Kyrgios will be No 1 by Jan 2018

Poor Djoker, he's the Only ONE among the 4 of them who Didn't Win...

BUT it's Good, coz it Could have been RAFA who's in Djoker's shoes today!

How is it even possible to "slow down" grass?

Perhaps its just more likely that the game has become faster and more physical because of improved racket technology and fitness. Therefore, it is much more difficult for serve and volley player to exist like they once did.
