Favorite match ups??

I was wondering what everyone's favorite match ups are between two players? Match ups that generally provide good quality tennis, high tension and drama, etc.
One of my favorites is the obvious Nadal-Federer. I think thats pretty much self-explanatory. Another is Roddick-Federer. They had some very entertaining matches in '07, and I enjoy the tennis generated by this combo, even if the result is normally decided beforehand.

S&V vs baseliner.

As S&V was killed by the ATP, it's a thing of the past.

Re: Favorite match ups??

Nadal-Djokovic, Nadal-Federer on hard, Nadal-Nalbandian(on clay), Nalbandian-Federer on all surfaces. Djokovic-Federer on hard, Davydenko-Nadal on hard, Murray-Nadal on hard are the ones I can recollect for now. There are some match ups that I like among the lower ranked players but I am too sleepy to think what they are.

Nadal-Gasquet... complete opposites in game style. Although, I'd prefer Richie get a win on the ATP tour.

just another garbage post signifying nothing. serve n volley was killed by the changing game, new technologies and better athletes.

Borg and Connors were pioneers in showing how the war could be waged from the backcourt. Borg showed how it could be done while playing high percentage tennis.

Fed raised the bar by showing how a more complete player can dominate from the backcourt by having some back-up arsenal like a dominating serve and an effective play at the net in terms of ending points.

atp has nothing to do with the new technologies, better recovery techniques, better sports nutrition, better training, and better athletes. in terms of changing game. the 2 handed backhand changed everything. it allowed players to deal with a speeding serve as well as to attack effectively off both wings off the ground. 2 hander is being called the greatest innovation in the history of the sport.

U.S. Open surface is plenty fast enough. nobody is stopping anybody from engaging in serve n volley. if you choose to serve n volley, the chances are that you wont have any food on the table that night.

now beat it and come back with something meaningful.

thanks. players are serving bigger than ever but you just cant serve n volly anymore.

even Fed has said numerous times that if he could serve n volley, he would. he has said the speed of the game is such now that you just cant do it effectively. going to to the net simply entails too much risk. you have to go in own your own terms. it is easy to get passed and it is difficult to volley balls that are being hit at near 90 MPH.

here is something even more amazing. you have some doubles players playing from the backcourt. Johhny Mac commented on this the other day. evidently he saw a couple of doubles teams doing it.

I prefer Gasquet - Roddick on grass. Especially in 1/4 final at Wimbledon.

I knew you would. I prefer that match-up in the final. Richie can give the 'old' man the win because he's not supposed to win a slam until he's 24 or 25, right?

When you post with your regular username I'll answer R=FK.

And R=FK, when you make the exact same post please show some sense, use some capital letters and also don't look like an idiot to everyone posting garbage and obvieties like Ham the Chimp here. I know you can do this better.

2 handed blah blah blah blah. Apparently the fact that 69 of the 113 GS since 1980 (that means, 61% of them) were won by single-handers doesn't show how "good" your theory is.

Two-handers are for girls who can't hit proper shots. The rest is blah blah blah and .

This is the biggest troll of the history of MTF. Can't believe this still goes on.

on clay: nadal vs a guy who thinks can win.
hardcourts: nalbandian vs fed
grass: i would like to see roddick vs fed this year at wimbledon, if roddick has really overcome the mental obstacle.

Lol at those who think it was a mental obstacle. Federer is just better than him.

Personally I like the aggressive baseliner vs. counterpuncher matches on grass and hc.

Murray Fed matches and the like.
