Djoko/Mathieu Similarity

I'm watching the match and the two of them look so similar. Not only are they both same heightish using the same rackets and wearings white but they're both playing exactly the same baseline tennis.

Their backhand technique looks very similar and their forehands and serves aren't exactly dissimilar. Anyone else notice this? Almost like two clones - obviously the match will be won on consistancy and mentally.

They are not too different no, but as you said, the atch will be won on consistancy.

Mentally you have to be strong to be consistant and Mathieu can crumble at the most important stages.

It just means theres nothing special about Fakervic's game. Hes no 3 because of mental strength and consistency, two things Chokethieu clearly doesn't have.

Re: Djoko/Mathieu Similarity

PHM is a heavy hitter.
Djokovic is a 'power grinder'.

The latter has less natural talent but makes less errors.

He's been playing this match like Andy Murray would have, the irony is he won't be criticised like Andy is.

As much as I dislike him I find it hard to say that Djokovic is less talented that PHM

He isn't. PHM is more of a :retard: than Djokovic could ever hope to be.

I mean in terms of pure ball striking. Is Nadal more 'talented' than PHM? I wouldn't exactly say so, but he's better in other areas.

I like your observation. Heights, way of movements, backhand, forhand... The big diference is serve. Novak is better server, with more variations, more consistentsy (and 5 years younger)

I don't like to watch tennis between my two favs but, in this case, it was easier.

This Paolo is THE man as person just like HK Ferrero.

Re: Djoko/Mathieu Similarity

If we only talk about their respective games, there is one major difference beetween Djokovic and PHM: Djokovic's serve is MUCH better.

Poor PHM, his name is mud at these boards. Same with Gasquet. I wonder if it's a french thing. Mugtheiu and Gasgay are hardly adoring nicknames.

PHM is also not a complete and utter a$$hole.

Federer / Youzhny / Ancic / Raonic / Dancevic

I don't think it's deserved for PHM: more than being a choker,PHM is just not good enough to consistently challenge the top players

For Gasquet on the other hand......

Fantastic observation.Novak doesn't have less natural talent and you must be blind to say that. But, then again, hatred is blind.
