RG Round 1: Robredo def. El Mago 5-7 6-4 6-1 6-4

Great effort from Guille

Some genius tennis for the first 2 sets, he really should've won the 2nd and would've had a chance. Legs and shoulder gave way in the latter stages of the match, but he played some brilliant tennis.

Getting better with every match

good match from Coria, especially at the end of the first set and in the start of the 2nd. Missed some chances to break in the 2nd set and after that Robredo took control. Had some chance in the 4th set but he couldnt hold serve to save his life
he can have some run in MM clay tournaments this year IMO

Coria had a chance. Sad

You play only as good, as your opponent lets you to

Good match from Coria, I was expecting 6-2 6-1 6-3 but Guille played some phenomenal shots from time to time. Old deamons appeared with double fault on 1st matchpoint. He needs some match practice and not letting getting down on himself and he will be OK.

Good effort Weasel.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

On a side note, scoreboard UEs/winners are again screwed up shows just 20 winners for Guille but on TV they said 45 already at 4-2 in the 4th set.

Wow, coria surprised me! In a very good way! He played some excellent tennis this match. Would have been enough against a lot of players, too bad he had to play Robredo.

Well done Coria!

Exactly what I was thinking watching the match.

It's a shame that Coria couldn't hold serve in the 4th set, he was up a break 3 times and still lost And he was unlucky to lose the 2nd set, so many chances and he couldn't take them

Big chance gone, he was 4-2 up in the fourth and final set. Finished with a double fault, which landed a good couple of meters out. Confidence is his need, he will improve.

This would have been a really nice match. Hopefully someone posts a torrent of this match within the next day or so.

I'm happy that Tommy won the match, but Guille was very promising. I'm no longer a fan of Coria, but it's always nice to see a great player making a comeback, and taking a set off a player like Tommy would give him some confidence too. And also Guille didn't just give up on the big points, he kept fighting. Well done to both players.

No disgrace in that performance from Coria.
