The Biggest Pre-Madonnas in tennis?

You know the sort, the ones who refuse to play for their country, and generally think they are the the one and only.

Kiefer is a good example, quitting Davis Cup in 2000 to concentrate on the Olympics, then lost in the first round. lol

Agassi for not playing Davis Cup in the past few years? Roddick and Agassi would have made a class team I think!

Tommy Haas?

This is more an issue on the women's tour I think. There are hardly any people like that on the men's tour. All I hear is the top players talking about how proud they are to be able to represent their country.

SINCE THERE'S NO TENNIS ACTION I WENT FOR TONGUE ACTION

Re: The Biggest Pre-Madonnas in tennis?

The 90s was the time of a lot of primadonna examples. Top players or stars skipping Davis or Fed Cup, skipping Olympics, or tournaments.

"i'm not here to do a cinema" - jhh talking to the press about her match
against kournikova (which she won easily), us open 2000

I think Michael Chang is the closest thing to Like A Virgin on the tour.

Re: The Biggest Pre-Madonnas in tennis?

what's the classification for players being primadonnas, is it just not playing davis/fed cup?
I would think about players who only play nonTMS events when they get hugeass guarantees

I think "Like a Prayer" would be better for Chang

And i can't imagine Andy walking naked with a mask and singing " .. i'll give u love, i'll hit you like a truck, i'll give u love, i'll teach u how to .. erotic, erotic, put your hands all over my body .."

BTW, Why Pre-Madonna's? . Madonna didn't want to play "mrs. Morecock" at eighties

Re: The Biggest Pre-Madonnas in tennis?

Concerning playing for his country, Kiefer quitting Davis Cup because "he wanted to concentrate on the Olympics" is a contradiction in terms itself because Olympics is also competing for your country.

Besides that, it was only a weak excuse because Kiwi was sick of all the shit around the German Davis Cup team earlier with Boris Becker as team captain and the constant trouble with Kiefer and Becker's frigging Mercedes junior team. Kiefer quitted from this team and Becker was mad at him and Kiefer was mad at Becker.
No wonder that Kiwi has a bad Davis Cup record and was on a losing streak as Becker was team captain; tennis is a mental sport and how would you feel if somebody who you dislike is sitting on your team bench?

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

sigma ... Nalbadian theme song could be "Justify my love". I think it's time for him to win something. This U.S. open could be great for him. And Agassi would sing "This used to be my playground" at the end
