Federer remembers how to play tennis: beats Nalbandian 5-7 6-2 6-2

Finally a good match from Roger again.

Some amazing baseline rallies in this match. Huge forehand winners by Fed, and huge BH winners by Nalby.

Some stats:
Fed Nalby
Winners: 43 27
UEs: 30 40
BP conversion: 5/5 2/5

R. Federer takes revenge, defeats D. Nalbandian, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2

Best match of the tournament thus far, if I might be allowed to say so. Quality of play was exceptional from both players, especially in the first and third sets. Nalbandian's level dipped ever so slightly in the second, his forehand began to spray a bit and that was enough for Federer to take advantage. Aggressive clay court tennis from two very versatile all court players. Nalbandian's backhand was on fire, which is to be expected; Federer's was almost equal to the task, which is a surprise. Both served excellently. Federer converted breakpoints efficiently, a good sign for him.

I don't think I've ever seen Federer move better on clay and also, his tactics were spot on and he stuck with them, even after losing a tough first set. It seems the work with Higueras might actually be paying off.

I support: Roger Federer; Richard Gasquet; Radek Stepanek; Mario Ancic; Robin Haase; because they are cool.

I also support: The Killers; Death Cab for Cutie; My Chemical Romance; The Smashing Pumpkins; Radiohead; because they are pretty cool, as well.

"It is cruel, you know, that music should be so beautiful. It has the beauty of loneliness of pain: of strength and freedom. The beauty of disappointment and never-satisfied love. The cruel beauty of nature and everlasting beauty of monotony." - Benjamin Britten.

That was Roger Federer at last.

End of April but he FINALLY showed up.

Sensational from him and he wore Nalbandian out.
