Re: Igor Andreev d. Willy Canas 6-4 7-6(6)

Mr. QF Igor Andreev actually WINS a quarterfinal???

Second ATP level SF for him since January of 2006.

Edit: Sorry he is still going to lose in the QF of course...
Was getting confused with Tennis Tipping QF which includes this match.

TT Singles 2012: W: Winston-Salem SF: Honolulu CH, Rotterdam, Memphis, 's-Hertogenbosch, Wimbledon, Beijing, Vienna QF: Barcelona, Nice, Bastad, Petange CH, Bangkok R16: Monte Carlo, Madrid
TT Doubles 2012: W: Caloundra CH (with kingroger), Acapulco (with keqtqiadv) F: Beijing (with KittyTennis) SF: Sydney (with Belludal), Memphis (with Belludal), Guadalajara CH (with kingroger), Wimbledon (with RHB1993) QF: Barcelona (with extremaduratenis), Cincinnati (with stbanchile)

Good win for Andreev. He was a break up in the 2nd, lost that, had match point on Canas' serve, couldn't convert, so good to see him pull it out in the TB.

This was a 4th round match. He's now in the QF's.

Never miss an opportunity to make others happy, even if you have to leave them alone in order to do it.

Attacking player won.

Good result for tennis, if not for my bank balance.

absolutely deserved win

Igor was on the court to go and get this win, Willys serve was not there and making ues did not help either

another low quality match on grandstand

This match was good for a set and a half but the finale was poor from both.

Reaches, actually.

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

Yep he reaches quarter now.
But did not he play 1/2 in Gstaad last year (beat Gasquet in 1/4 ) ?
