ticket price at Pacific Life Open.

Can someone explain why the ticket price for Pacific Life Open is so expensive?? It is more expensive than US Open and Australian Open, both of which I've been to.

It's not like Pacific Life Open is more popular than grand slam??

If you haven't been to Indian Wells, they charge over $160 for cheapest box seat in day session.

They charge over $230 for Final... a bit of ripoff I must say.

Ya think? Of course not. You can still buy tickets at box office on game day.

Re: ticket price at Pacific Life Open.

Perhaps all the Palm Springers wanted to attend finals weekend. The area is quite affluent. I have never seen so many Benz in my life outside of Germany.

Personally, I thought the prices I paid were reasonable. I was there for the early rounds. I paid $30 for general admission and I watched 11-12 hours of tennis a day. It won't let me get into the main stadium after 7:00pm though. For one of the days I was there, I had to purchase a night session ticket because the day session tickets were sold out. It cost $19. I entered at 4:30pm with 2-3 matches still to be played in all the courts. I think $79 for two and a half day of tennis is a great bargain.

Agreed. at houston - a tourney that is really incomparable to IW, early-week tickets are also $30. the event at UCLA is similar and I remember someone saying they paid $25 to see a CHALLENGER event not that long ago....

And they set an attendance record this year - it's officially the most visited event outside the Grand Slams. I don't find the prices out of line with other events i've been to in LA proper, Houston, and Scottsdale. Food is always expensive at sporting events, it's not markedly worse at IW than anything else I've been to.

Grandstand tickets for the finals cost $53 and Loge $75, I don't think that's out of line with other major events

Not just over there I might as well add.

Face it, as long as people turn up whatever the charged prices, the tournament organizers won't lower them... it's called capitalism.

Re: ticket price at Pacific Life Open.

Especially IW had both the women's and men's final for one ticket on Sunday.

For all other GS events, you either have men's final or women's final.

Re: ticket price at Pacific Life Open.

For food, it's not exactly overpriced as compare to all sporting venues. Plus, you can bring your own food and drink into the tennis centre as long as they are not in glass container and non-alcoholic.
