Re: Is Federer a factor anymore? How long before he drops out of top 5?

Who exactly is gonna boot him out. Djokovic and Murray should be above him sure. Possibly Kei in the near future. Wawarinka is inconsistent but has a small chance I guess. That still leaves him 5th. Wouldn't be surprised if he retired in the top 5.

Mugray doesn't even beat Rogie anymore, Rogie's still IMO the second best out there.

Re: Is Federer a factor anymore? How long before he drops out of top 5?

Isn't a factor anymore? Brisbane title, Dubai title, Istanbul title, and Halle title. Indian Wells final, Rome final, and Wimbledon final. 4 titles and 3 runner ups (7 finals in total, 4-3 record). The only one who can consistently beat him is Djokovic. If being the #2 player in the world at age 34 (even if bumped to #3 or #4) is not being a factor anymore, than what is, solely #1? Other than Djokovic, Rogie's the best out here, not Mugray, not Nishikori, and not Wawrinka. These three do well, but Rogie's still IMO more consistent, even at 34.

He had to play a lot of smaller tourneys to make up for the lost/missed points at AO, MC, Madrid though.
Djokovic achieved his points this year by fewer tourneys.

Re: Is Federer a factor anymore? How long before he drops out of top 5?

In fact, I expect Rogie to be a factor for the rest of 2015 for sure. Cincinnati, USO, Shanghai, Basel, Paris, and London. Also, I expect him to win his match(es) at Davis Cup in September. I would be very shocked if Rogie doesn't win at least one title the rest of 2015 and make at least 2 finals the rest of 2015 overall. I'd say his chances of winning the rest of this year's events from most likely to least likely goes like this... Basel, Cincinnati, Shanghai, London, USO, and Paris.

He will play whatever he wants to play. Like Djokovic will get to F in this MS without to play a player in top 30.

Current world number 2, Wimbledon finalist, winner of 4 tournaments. Yep he's a non-factor. Moron.

Re: Is Federer a factor anymore? How long before he drops out of top 5?

Even if Rogie falls to #3 and stays there, he's 34 and it's still amazing in itself. Remember Djokovic and Mugray are both 28, a whole 6 years younger. Let's see where Djokovic and Mugray are at when they're 34.

Re: Is Federer a factor anymore? How long before he drops out of top 5?

Is Federer a factor? LOL. He's not at Djokovic' level ATM. That is granted. But if that's the measure for being relevant then we have a tour with one relevant player.

Speaking of Djokovic, bookmakers has had him as favourite in every match he played this year (quite natural). Where were the matches with closest odds? That is, highest winner odds on Djokovic?

1) Against Federer in Wimbledon
2) Against Federer in Indian Wells
3) Against Federer in Dubai
4) Against Murray in Aussie Open
5) Against Nadal in Monte Carlo
6) Against Federer in Rome
7) Against Nadal in Roland Garros
8) Against Murray in Indian Wells

Sort of tells the story, doesn't it?

He is still a very good player especia?ly on grass. Its his speed and stamina that are fading. Once the drop below a certain level in the next year. He will start losing more and more. Then the permanent slide begins.

People have been saying this every year and were wrong every time. But i guess if you keep saying it every year, you will eventually be right.

He's probably in top 5 until he retires.
