No, rankings are what they are. They reflect performances in the last 52 weeks, and so far Fed has been performing better than Murray, across all surfaces.

If I was him I'd probably retire for my fans. He's embarrassing himself these days!

Yes reaching semi-finals of a slam is embarrassing only for Federer. That alone shows you what he has accomplished.

Quoted for truth. Federer lifted the expectations of himself to such a high level that it won't be probably matched by any other player in near future.

I'd argue a lot more have joined his fan base and the few that have left are idiots and real bandwagoners.

Good thing Pete Sampras didn't listen to you and didn't retire when he got bitch-slapped and served embarrassment pie by a 19 yo Federer in 2001 Wimbledon.

Is Federer a factor anymore? How long before he drops out of top 5?

After that massive Wimbledon curb-stomp by the joker - I think it puts rest to the hope that Fed will ever defeat Djokovic EVER AGAIN in any slam.

With Andy Murray about to overtake Federer as No. 2 any match now and Fed dropping out of major ATP 1000 tournaments left and right is he even a factor in Tennis anymore? In real ranking terms is Federer even in the top 5 these days? It's like Nadal puesdo top 5 ranking until he got curb-stomped at RG this year and dropped out of the top 10. Is something like this coming for Federer? He's defending a lot of points until the end of the year.

Fed's chances at slams seem distant to none and any tournament with Murray or Djokovic in - he has no chance either. They are simply better players than him in every department now esp. in speed.

How long will Fed last in the top 5 rankings?

Re: Is Federer a factor anymore? How long before he drops out of top 5?

As troll threads go this is right up there.

Federer is well within top 5 on race (at 4 with no chance of Nishikori catching him before USO) almost certainly second seed at USO now. As long as he keeps making slam finals there is a chance...

LOL.

Apparently the Wim F makes him irrelevant. The entire Muglos generation has just one such slam final. Total.
