Tsonga LOSES the final = Tsonga DOES NOT qualify - #9; (Nalbandian qualifies by right, at #7); Tsonga is #1 alternate; Simon #2 alternate; Blake #3 alternate.

Either way, it looks good for Jo (#8, for tonight), now...even if he doesn't win tomorrow, if Dave keeps his word (that he isn't going to Shanghai), Jo is first in line to take his place.
With Rafa's current form and suggesting that he may not be able to play, the dream scenario is Nalby winning tomorrow and Rafa withdrawing, which would result in a really nice fast court entry list:

1. Federer
2. Djokovic
3. Murray
4. Davydenko
5. Roddick
6. Nalbandian
7. Del Potro
8. Tsonga

what nalbo said is that he is not going as an alternate, but yes as a qualifier.

04 (04) Andy Murray (GBR) 684 (15)*

07 (12) Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) 390 (05)
08 (07) Juan Martin Del Potro (ARG) 369 (08)*
The alternates:
