Blake def. Kendrick 7-5, 7-5

Kendrick could've taken the second set to a tiebreak at 40-30 but it just wasn't to be. I get the feeling that Blake has to win this tournament. With the #2 seed out and the defending champion gone as well, it seems that the only player who might trouble him is Fish and that would be a quarterfinal match. I like Spadea in the final and he might hurt James a bit as well. This would give James another big boost here early in the year.

EDIT: Whoops! Just noticed I didn't include the event or round in my thread title but I think everybody knows the situation.

Without Blake in the 2nd round, this tournament would look like a Challenger.

I hope Spadea wins it, but my money is on Querrey to take out both Spadea and Blake.
