Fed fans

How will you react if Nadal wins French and Wimbledon,
and the Djoker the Us Open?

Can he rebound and pass the 14 slams mark eventually?

Re: Fed fans

This hypothetical, has Federer winning NO majors this year, Wimbledon included?

Madonna has a better chance of winning an Oscar before that happens.

Re: Fed fans

I still expect Federer to at least win the Wimbledon (if not the US Open), but if this scenario would, God forbid, come to pass, I would still believe that Federer will eventually get two or three more Grand Slams. It might then take longer, but I still think it would be a good possibility. Plenty of players have won nothing for a year or two (in fact, Fed is the only one to have won in such crazy succession). So there, my thoughts!

Re: Fed fans

If Federer doesn't win a slam this year, I don't see him beating the Sampras record. Having said that, I do think he will win wimbledon and beat the Sampras record eventually.

Re: Fed fans

I think if he doesn't win he can eventually come back and win some slams at 2009, where he will STILL be 27 years old. Stop being fucking imediatists for god's sake! I'd only "worry" if he didn't win anything for two years.

Re: Fed fans

I think saome of you are exaggerating. The fact that he didn't win this year's AO doesn't mean that his career is over and that he will play bad from now on. And also, he was ill so give him a break. Just remember what people were saying when he was struggling last year after Dubai, he lost twice to Canas, he lost to Volandri but then he beat Rafa in Hamburg and he won Wimbledon and US open and The Masters cup.I think he will be back soon, as strong as before....and yes, he will beat the Sampras record...

Right on mate! It won't be the end of the world or the end of Federer's career. He is still relatively young and is still remarkably talented. I would be awfully sad if he were not to win Wimbledon, it's sort of a tradition seeing him win Wimby. However, I knew there was a great possibility of him losing to Novak, he did and I am just fine. Usually in the past I would be very bumbed after he lost to lets say Nadal.

However, it's normal for even the best of players to lose a bit of their edge and start losing to upcoming stars in the game. Noavak is no club player you know. I at least would like for Fed to win the Olympic gold medal. If not then Wimbledon, certainly a big masters series title or something, it just wouldn't feel right if he did not win anything significant in 2008.

Re: Fed fans

Personally, I'd be worried if he won nothing this year. The only slam streak he's after now is Borg's 8 years with a slam. All the others he owns.

Re: Fed fans

Federer is more likely to win the US Open than Wimbledon in my opinion.

Tim Henman--Gael Monfils--James Blake--Donald Young--Rafael Nadal--Jo-Wilfried Tsonga--John Isner--Janko Tipsarevic--Richard Gasquet.

What makes you think that? hmmm? Care to elaborate? I slightly disagree.
