Predicitons - Calm down tennis fans

After the de-throwning of roger and the take down of Rafa, everybody has been quick to make some rather outrages predictions. Some of my fav's are the beginning of the end for roger, Rafa's worst year yet and possibly my fav, roger will not get too or past fourteen slams.

Please, so pathetic. Firstly this was said in 2005 then roger still finished world number one. As for rafa, well when you say worst year yet, we have only played one slam so far loll there is still eleven months too go. Do you consider that you might be jumping the gun a little early. I’m pretty sure this is his best showing at the aus open to date.

As for Roger, he did not play a warm up tournament and he could have easily won the match against Novak. He was in prime positions in each set however lack of match play killed him. This was only his fifth or sixth match since November last year. And it was pretty obvious that that's not his absolute best.

Too say that this is the end for him well take into account that he is fit and rather young. If you say his slams are in a weak era then that is just bogus. They have all been legitimate players. The past generation just cannot compare with their playing style does not fit.

Should roger win the majority of the hard-court events and retain his two other crowns then what will everybody say. Or if he wins the French open.?

All im saying is that everyone is so happy with the loss of the tennis king and his rival that they going are extreme with predictions and jumping so far ahead in time when they base their arguments on nothing whatsoever.

Savor the moment non fed and non nadal fans as the best ever world number one and two's in history will restore order in the coming months. This will feed the hunger to succeed for the guys and should roger get a coach then the old roger from 2007 will return or better yet the 2006 one.

The problem is that Federer is turning 27 this year and past his peak... In 2005 he was only 24 and hitting his peak, which happened in 2006, the year he hit his peak....

Fed is still peak, until he sustains a major injury(knock on wood) he'll remain at peak. That's bad news for the field. I expect a 100% fit and motivated Fed in Dubai to kick ass and take names.

Yeah, he's got to be the favorite there. He will be extra motivated. Generally, he stands "more of a chance" of losing when it's best of three sets, but I think those courts will be more to his liking. I'll be rooting for, oh, just about anyone but Federer, but I wouldn't bet against him, regardless of his opponent.

Perhaps it was rational and correct, but it certainly wasn't necessary. There about 35 threads discussing those topics individually.

And while I agree with the OP in his general opinions that Fed and Nad are quite fine at the moment, I disagree that it's not even a question. It's definitely a question and definitely one that deserves to be discussed. It's certainly not PATHETIC if one thinks Fed is not as dominant as he once was or if one thinks Nads will lose at the French.

Im trying to make a point about how people on here are not here to talk about tennis properly but too just soak in victories and losses.

How old are you? 16? How do you know he's on the slide? One match with no tune ups and illness means nothing at this point.

How is he on the slide? the problem with roger is his repuation. He is given to room for error. He loses one match and hes suddenly sliding. Pathetic
