Federer will now step up

As i said earlier in a thread, Federer has not been playing anywhere near his potential for at least a couple of years...i hope now he will man up enough to meet this new challenge and rise above it like a true champion should. This year may well be the true test of whether he is the greatest player in history or not

C'mon Australia!!!

stern tests ahead: dubai (with quite some draw) and the hc masters back-to-back. he's got a lot to gain there.

Well I'm not sure.

Saw flashes of that fight today, but was shocked to see him go down in the tiebreak. Really figured he would grind it out against Nole.

Re: Federer will now step up

He probably won't win the next major.
2008 is not going to be one of his better years.
There's a lot of pressure trying to win a 6th consecutive Wimbledon.
Nothing is guaranteed, and Federer did not play tennis that wins majors tonight.
If that's the first time you saw Roger play, you would wonder how he won 12 majors.

Re: Federer will now step up

Federer didn't rise to Djokovic's improved game tonight, but that doesn't mean he won't next time. Time will tell. No excuses but really having a stomach virus the week before a tournament begins is not the best preparation physically or mentally. Imagine if it had been Djokovic that sick, lol...Don't get me wrong, Djokovic played great tennis, anticipated, and executed, and dominated. I saw it

Re: Federer will now step up

I did think that Federer would step up after the last three French Opens already?

That's what the threads were after his defeats to Nadal

Albert Costa forever +++ Tommy Haas +++ Ivo Karlovic +++ Peter Luczak

RAFA owns Fedclown ~~~ H2H record 23-14 -- ~~~

Byebye Fedjerk, your dominance period is over! Nadal will win like 10 more Slams!

[Original signature for 10 years, only the h2h record updated ]

Re: Federer will now step up

djokovic has a weaker body than most top players, you cant deny that, cant say get in shape, cuz if your #3 you already make it your top priority to get into shape, its gonna be really hard for him to get into better shape than he already is bc this is maybe just the way his body is, but he counters that with good tennis so.. if it goes long

I don't know if you trust Tony Roche or not. But he did say that Roger has not reached his peak in terms of the tennis he is capable of. His peak comes around 27,28,29.

anyways, hoping this will help him win the FO.

Roger Federer

Re: Federer will now step up

I hope he win's FO too. And That Nadal wins Wimbledon

I was so suprised that Roger lost the match n a tie break. He always, *always* (or so I thought) finds something from somewhere to fire out one extra point. But it wasn't to be, and I'm not exactly complaining!!

NOLE FOR THE TITLE!!!

Rafael Nadal.
2008 Wimbledon Champion!

jankotipsarevic. maratsafin. marcosbaghdatis. marioancic.

One thing's for sure: Dubai just got a lot more interesting. I still consider him the favorite, though.

Crap. And a self lie. You can sing it in tour bathroom. That's the use of your 'klever' sentence.

'Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.'
