Federer vs Agassi/Djokovic

Forgive me my ignorance, but i'd like to ask some experts why Agassi struggled so badly against Federer (losing 6 last meetings), whereas Nole seems to be already closer to Federer than AA ever was.

AA and Nole both are great returners, good baseliners, a good 1st serve when needed, I dont get AA couldn't target the Federer backhand more and be more competititive?

It would appear AA was almost in awe of Federer or perhaps Roger was just a better player then? Imho, I think this younger generation are perhaps more fearless and maybe even Federer has dropped off a bit?

Any answers appreciated

Re: Federer vs Agassi/Djokovic

Agassi was already on the downfall of his career when Federer became "Federer".

I remember Agassi destroying Federer in a Miami final back in the early of this decade though.

1970 Mr Andre VS 1981 Roger

How you go to compare this two, 11 Years between them

That's tough to compare, Tough to say this.

But Djok is a great returner, But he is still not great as Mr. Andre

GO Roger Federer, Nick Kyrgios, Borna Coric, Vasek Pospisil, Thomaz Bellucci, Kei Nishikori, , Milos Raonic, Jerzy Janowicz, Grigor Dimitrov, Dennis Novikov and Bernard Tomic

Thiem will be top three by Dec 2016
Borna Coric will be No 1 by Dec 2017
Nick Kyrgios will be No 1 by Jan 2018

already answered.

It's easy to own your opponents when they are 33-35 already. Even tho, Agassi himself said he doesn't think he would have the edge ofer Federer even on his prime. Maybe due to his rivalry with Sampras, he says Federer is the best against he has ever played.

Re: Federer vs Agassi/Djokovic

Yeah, when the guy has battled with Sampras for that length of time how can he be expected to tussle as hard with another arch nemesis at 33-35. Good and obvious point

Re: Federer vs Agassi/Djokovic

Different match-up different style.

Agassi would normally try to overpower Fed with pace and that plays right into Roger's hands.

Nole plays a more controlled type of game feeding him deep shots without as much penetration keeping him pinned back, waiting for a shorter reply and moving him around the court with the angles.

In the 2005 U.S. Open final Agassi had the most success in that second set when he was kicking the serve up to Roger's backhand and hitting those deep loopy shots to the Federer backhand. The moment Agassi tried to outhit Roger it was curtains for him.

This is one of the lamest things I've heard lately.

Faker is milion light years away from the tennis which was produced by Andre.
C'mon- don't make stupid out of yourself, the Faker will never be as close as good tennis player , nore will ever achieve that much as Andre has achieved in much better competition today.
Period.

Agassi played Federer when Fed was in his prime.

Nole is playing him while Fed is in his transitional period.

Federer 8:3 Agassi
Federer 5:1 Djokovic

Don't see much of a difference there.

Re: Federer vs Agassi/Djokovic

As for the ever repeated age issue, the general agreement amongst viewers was that Agassi played as well in the USO 2005 final as he ever played.

Drooling after Schuettler, Bolelli, Volandri, Starace (short haired version), ToJo, Tursunov, Alves, Petzschner, Simon, Qureshi, Steve Johnson
