Re: german people

Don't think there will be much Wimbledon on ZDF. In the afternoon, ZDF is probably focusing too much on news, press conferences, reportages from UEFA EURO 2004, so I think they won't show Wimbledon.
ARD will show Wimbledon, but only about two hours and you will miss about one hour until you can switch over to DSF

Anyway, both channels are channels for old people and both channels don't like tennis and don't pay much attention to it and prefer broadcasting programmes for retired people.
They are both pathetic, and ZDF and ARD will never show Wimbledon on the same day together, at most they are are alternating between each other: 1st day ARD, 2nd ZDF, 3rd ARD... like, for example, it was during the French Open. But for Wimbledon, I guess, only ARD will show tennis; every day, but only for about two hours.

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

But you shouldn´t be that hard on ARD and ZDF. Remember they rescued us when Eurosport cut of the Guga-Federer match after second set?
Anyway, tody after Halle final they said ZDF will cover Wimbledon if I remember correctly. Probably the coverage will depend on how long German players last in the tournament.

Re: german people

yes, sure there are some positive things about ARD/ZDF, too. But anyway, I don't like channels that tune out when Kiwi was about to play a third set in Halle against Bjorkman
That's just a pure sin
and about 90% of their programmes is nothing interesting for me, some tennis matches (like Guga/Federer) excluded of course

You're right, Neely. I didn't think much of ZDF's coverage of Halle. The commentator got on my nerves. In the Schüttler-Fish match on Saturday, he kept going on about Rainer's great fitness, as if that was the only positive thing he had going for him. I got the distinct feeling that he was disappointed that Kiefer didn't get through to the SF instead

My German guys are like the cast of the Wizard of Oz:

Rainer = Lion
Kiwi = Scarecrow
Tommy = Tin Man
Flo = Dorothy

...but I still love 'em

yes, that's right. I think the whole ZDF team was disappointed because they were proved wrong as they all picked Kiefer in this match before *g*
well, I would have liked Kiwi to win this match, too, but there are by far worse things than if Rainer is the one who beats him
(man kann ja fast sagen: egal wer gewinnt, der Sieg bleibt sowieso in der "Familie" )

I don't know if you get to receive ARD and DSF cos yesterday there were ladies matches on DSF (sharapova, myskina, williams....).
And yes, I think they'll predominantly focus on german matches whenever there is one.
