Re: 2008 MTF Mug of the Month: January Champion is David Nalbandian

The difference is that Nalbandian was supposed to win the AO

No one really expects much from Blake.

I thought that Federer was supose to win AO, at least bookies thought that, Nalbandian wasn't even in first 3 picks for AO. And btw Blake wasn't supose to win Delray Beach concidering the field ?

Actually Nalbandian was the 2nd favorite before the "back problems"

Blake is a mug, we all know that. But the month is far from over.

It can only get biger if Kei beats Andy in San Jose in R2. But then again , he wont be No. 244, he will be around 130.

Melzer

At least Blake can get to a final

Eschauer perhaps as well.

Koubek too.

Perhaps all the Austrians can be nominated?

Blaze, I nominated the Austrian DC team already.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Blaze, could you please repost the criteria for Mug of the Month in your first post? It would be helpful.

You gotta be kidding... Nalbandian was a mug cause he lost in GS R32 from a former No 1 and GS champ, and player ranked 12 losing a MM final from a player ranked 244 isn't ?
Agreed. Another vote for Blake for February Mug.

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."

I still think one of the Austrians deserve it more than Blake

Now loses to Isner after having 3 Match points, 6-3 up in the tie break.

For sure a big candidate.

Re: 2008 MTF Mug of the Month: January Champion is David Nalbandian

It's Sam Querrey for me. When's he going to get a better chance at a title than Delray? Blew a *3-1 lead in the final set v Nishikori and then wasted 4 match points in the final set tiebreak playing like a total pussy.
And yeah this is also betting related. Losing to Dennis the Gremlin early in one of your bread and butter US Mickey Mouse events is pretty fucking horrific as well. Probably wasted match points there too but I can't be bothered checking.

I don't think anyone can beat Haas.

But Haas is returning from an injury.

We all know how good a player he is.

Querrey or the Austrians are mug regardless of what they do
