Re: who will win wimbledon?

How come you missed the sentimental fav, Tim Henman. I would like him to win this year.

I have to laugh. You *always* miss one of the favourites, safinaferrero

Tim's not just a sentimental favourite. He's number 5, has an excellent grass court record and his head 2 head against the top 2 is very much in his favour.

Re: who will win wimbledon?

Yes, but nowadays its like - Wimbledon is Henman and Henman is Wimbledon.

Re: who will win wimbledon?

I think it could be Federer again, but then again, it could be Henman's year (finally). Outside bet to do well: Kiefer (don't laugh!), if he plays as well as he has been doing on several occasions this year

My German guys are like the cast of the Wizard of Oz:

Rainer = Lion
Kiwi = Scarecrow
Tommy = Tin Man
Flo = Dorothy

...but I still love 'em

Re: who will win wimbledon?

To win a slam, one need to play a good seven matches in a row over a period of two weeks. Playing occassionally well isn't enough.

Re: who will win wimbledon?

It will be Chubby Chela.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: who will win wimbledon?

Maratski doesn't have the belief he can win on grass... no reason why not...

If Tiger Tim can focus but not TOO much that he gets tummy ache, and can overcome nerves in a slam final [he didn't get his dry run at RG too bad], AND he gets his dream draw, i.e., Rogi in the final, then yes he can win Wimby this year!

Hopp Rogi! Go Gonzo! Allez Gasquet!

Más vale maña que fuerza -- proverbio español
"Pero, con todos mis respetos para Rafa, Federer tiene más talento." - Marat Safin
"Pero para mí el mejor es Roger Federer. / For me, the best is Roger Federer." - D. Nalbandian
"He's the best sportsman, I think, in the world. He has a lot of humble." - Rafael Nadal
"He's so charismatic." - Marcos Baghdatis
