I think he is still match tough... He was just plain unlucky with his blisters at RG after having such a good draw.... During some of the RG matches, due to his blisters, he actually had to volley more than his usual liking and those volleys were good.
Another astonishing stats, Marat has been the King of Aces for the last 2 Grand Slams in a row even though at RG his last match was in the 4th Round.
Plus another mental factor, he always consider grass as his least favourite surface.
