Re: Part 2. Which one of these 8 youngsters will have the best career?

Cilic and Tsonga continue their good start to 2008. Both made semis in Week 1 and now both are in the last 16 of a Slam.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Tsonga Bombaya, off to a great start, just hope he can be injury free.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

George I was interested in reading your reasons for the order you put the 8 in.

My order is:

1 Gulbis
2 Korolev
3 Cilic
4 Tsonga
5 Young
6 Zverev
7 Querrey
8 Bolelli

A great tournament for Tsonga here, reaching the semis (so far) and taking out quality players. Now I hope he stays healthy and wins a tournament.

I will do it after the AO, as I don't have as much as internet access as I am in Melbourne and not in my hometown.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Does Korolev remind anyone else of a younger Safin?

No, more Kafelnikov with possibly more potential, hence he is the RMK (Rich Man's Kafelnikov)

It would be good if he could volley like the real Kafelnikov.

Here are the points since this thread was started. Gulbis and Young have won matches at GS level.

Code:
1 Tsonga	6-1
2 Cilic 3-1
3 Querrey	2-1
4 Korolev	1-1
4 Bolelli	1-1
6 Gulbis	0-1
6 Young 0-1
6 Zverev	0-1

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

After seeing Young and Zverev for the first time this AO, and a bit more of Tsonga and Cilic, I would like to modify my list a little.

1. Tsonga
2. Gulbis
3. Young
4. Cilic
5. Zverev
6. Querrey
7. Korolev
8. Bolelli

The original one is the one that stands

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Part 2. Which one of these 8 youngsters will have the best career?

Well, we are coming up to the IW and Miami TMS events.

Will be interesting to see how Tsonga fronts up at these events.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

This time we have 8 players, but there will be no groups. It will be like how I run the Liked/Disliked players thread, rate from then to 1 to 8. One being the best and 8 the worst. Give reasons if possible, it will make it more interesting to read.

Yes, their GS results will be updated as they compete in them and follow the progression of them into top players for some and others maybe not. For the most part I tried to get them in the same age, but Tsonga is here mainly because 2007 was his 1st full season without injury problems.

Success, well that would mean best potential or which one of them will win GS titles and TMC/TMS titles in the future.

The list of 8 are

- Gulbis
- Korolev
- Tsonga
- Cilic
- Young
- Querrey
- Zverev
- Bolelli

There is some variety among these players. Tsonga and big Sam with the huge shots, Zverev with the serve/volley, Korolev huge groundies, Gulbis has good variation. Young plays differently as he isn't all about the power. Cilic has very good work ethic and Bolelli could do well in some clay events.

just how is Tsonga a youngster at 22?
