Baghdatis def. Ljubicic 6-4, 7-6 (4)

Ljubicic serving for the second set here, but couldn't close it out.

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

Did Marcos continue his good form from his last match or was this Ivan not playing well?

I like a lot of players.

Chronicle of an elimination foretold, Ivan lost his Shanghai chances before Paris, Marcos is a bad matchup for him.

Yep definatly a tough matchup for Ljuba Truba, it was evident when he lost to him earlier this year in the finals of his home tournament.

Re: Baghdatis def. Ljubicic 6-4, 7-6 (4)

The first few months of next year will be critical for Ljubicic, a lot of points to defend in both the smaller events and IW/Miami. Being unable to win a match at both indoor Masters with his game is a real indicator of the slump he's in at the moment.

One of the best victory of his career for Marcos

It was against the real number 2 and King of Indoors

Good job from Marcos winning it in 2 after being broken twice in the 2nd set. He hit some nice passing shots. The good news is that he is serving well in this tournament.

Now go beat Davydenko!
