Not to undersell Gaudio's performance too much...but that was terrible from Nalbandian. The third set was a total tank. Who would have thought it...

Yeah, ugh, this sucks! Damn you David. It's reeeeeeeeaaaaaallly funny though. Well, screw this, I aint watchin' the match then.

With each passing season, I discover new reason
SAMPRAS --> Rios --> KUERTEN --> Kafelnikov -->
Federer --> Hewitt --> RODDICK --> GONZALEZ -->
NALBANDIAN --> Benneteau --> Davydenko --> Mathieu -->
TURSUNOV --> Mantilla --> KIEFER --> NADAL -->
Karlovic --> Odesnik --> Stepanek --> Monfils -->
??

Ugh I hate it when people tank sets, but even if Dahveed tried, I don't think he could have done much vs Gaudio in that finas set. Pretty pathetic that a top 10 players in a semifinal of a Slam (of all places) tanks in his match

He should have never let him come back in the 2nd set, ugh

I forgot David likes Gaston so much he said I will let you have a few games.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Choketastic Dahveed Goes Down 3-6 6-7 0-6 To Gaudio

Nice to see gaudio getting lots of credit in this thread.

IMO, David wasn't the favourite in that match that many people seem to have assumed that he was. Gaudio is better than him on clay, and those are the ropes.

Roland Garros has always been Davids worst slam and always will be, imo (I don't care that he's gone a round further than in Australia - he'll go farther in Australia someday and has posted a good result there more than once). Instead of bagging on him, perhaps he should get some credit for doing so amazing on his worst surface? But no... that praise is reserved for Henman and Hewitt.

I lack direction.

Chocking makes me sad.

David has a clay title so I wouldn't say he can't play great on clay. I do agree its his worst surface.

Re: Choketastic Dahveed Goes Down 3-6 6-7 0-6 To Gaudio

True, true Rebecca, but I think people already knew that despite it being his weakest surface he's already achieved more on it than Henman and Hewitt - like winning a clay title for instance (a real one, unlike Delray Beach which Hewitt won), and getting to a TMS final on clay which neither of the above two have managed. It's a tough surface for him because he has less margin for error than most of the other Argentine players, but he's still more suited to it through his movement and power than either Henman or Hewitt.

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

Nobody has ever said that he can't play on it. Just that it is his worst surface. That's all.

Hewitt has a clay title too (okay, so it's a *really* lame one, but he has some good wins on the stuff to go with it), and Henman isn't actually ass on clay. But when they do well on clay it's just like, the most amazing thing ever. When Nalbandian loses in the semis of his worst slam, upgrading his previous best result by 3 rounds... he all of a sudden is a choking bridesmaid? Bah, that's very frustrating.

Btw, my rant isn't addressing you Dirk. It's addressing the comments (and lack there of) about Nalbandian in general.

I lack direction.

Chocking makes me sad.
