Difference between Challenger and ATP level

I know that at ATP level a lot of players travel to the new venue after they loose in a tournie so they can practice at the new one and get used of the new surface etc. Do the players do that also at ch level? for example if someone lose in aachen go to eckental and train there? does someone know that?

Re: Difference between Challenger and ATP level

It depends on the venue. Challengers must be ready for the players to arrive and practice on Friday afternoon, but I'm sure many of them will accept players and let them practice on Thursday if they call the tournament and let them know they are coming.

You can check the rulebook, but I don't think that ATP tournaments have an obligation to allow players on the grounds before Friday either. Some of them can't because they are still preparing the grounds and such, but I'm sure none of them would object if a player wanted to come in and workout. Masters events are a bit different, they allow players in early for promotional reasons and such.

@Wimbledon - FYI, with @Wimbledon live scoring devices, please add 50 to the games in the fifth set of the Isner v Mahut match.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.

Possibly, if you have a car, or the public transportation is good, or your host family is nice. Some challenger players I know seem to be very interested in learning about the nightclubs of the world.
