Do you think Carlos Moya has underachieved during his career?

17 titles, 1 slam, 1 other slam final.

I don't know but I really think he could have done more with his career. He always seems to choke in one form or another. When he was serving for the 2 sets against Coria, I just knew he would blow it. I really like this guy but his mentality just isn't right, compared to the likes of Coria.

Do you guys feel he's underachieved?

Re: Do you think Carlos Moya has underachieved during his career?

I think he underachieved because of his injury, he could have won more during 1999 2000 and 2001, had he been healthy.

I miss: Ivan Lendl, Korda, Novak, Bruguera, Rios, Kucera, Courier, Mantilla, Costa, Santoro and Ferreira.

Good luck to:

Gaudio, Murray, Florian Mayer, Chela, Nalbandian, Radek Stepanek, Volandri, Youzhny and Verdasco.

Re: Do you think Carlos Moya has underachieved during his career?

I also have the feeling he could have done even better, but still the number of titles and winning one Grand Slam is not too bad either.

but I'm very content with the way he has been playing this year.
After he won the TMS in Rome I said that he was the best player of the year so far up to that date.

okay, he couldn't overcome Coria yesterday, but one match makes not a season!

VAMOS Carlos!

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

Re: Do you think Carlos Moya has underachieved during his career?

I think Moya's motivation in 2004 has been far greater than it was in 2003 and 2002, and it has shown in his Rome TMS Victory and the numerous smaller tournaments he has won so far this season. But he has allowed his nerves to get the better of him in some important matches e.g. versus Roddick in Miami (served for match, lost), most recently against Coria at RG and also against the diminutive Argentinian in Buenos Aires (6-4 6-1 in Final) -wtf was that about?

From an overall career perspective, Moya hasn't really underachieved, especially because of his injury problems. 2004 is looking like it could be a year in which he badly underachieved, however; we'll see.

Re: Do you think Carlos Moya has underachieved during his career?

Since 1998 Moya has definitely underachieved in the Slams!!!

* by end 98 season Moya's achievments includ: RG Win; AO Final; USO SF; TMC Final

-->> However since then, despite consistently being in the top-10, winning 3-4 titles every year etc.. Moya hasn't even made another Slam SF???

Carlos should have atleast made more of a charge at recent French Opens, & with his game he also should be a big threat at AO & USO, BUT for some reason or another he just can't perform when the chips are down>_<.!!

However I still think he'll manage to win 1-more Slam before retiring!! (^^)

Yes, I'm surprised he only has what 1 week at the top of the rankings, and he just won his 3rd TMS title, a guy of his calibur should have more big titles, but he hasn't immensly underachieved though. Injuries are a bitch

Re: Do you think Carlos Moya has underachieved during his career?

I hardly call someone who has won a slam amongst 16 other titles an underachiever... let's not exaggerate!

Feli Lopez, now that's an underachiever, that's if you think he has any talent to speak of... not one title and he's the same age group as Rogi, Nalby et al. Malisse, underachiever supreme.

Hopp Rogi! Go Gonzo! Allez Gasquet!

feliciano doesnt have a backhand RogiFan, this is not like wta where you can win 22 slams just hitting slice.

Moya has done a lot having only his serve and forehand combo. If Roddick and Moya can win GS with barely decent backhands, what's wrong with Steffi's Slams?. And Graf's slice wasn't a piece of cake. Its' way better than Feliciano's and a lot of shameful backhands at ATP

Well Moya has one a grand slam and three TMS, but with his talent a lot of people think he could have done better. But remember he had a lot on his mind, the heroine smuggling scandal, ankle injuries, an affair with JLO. Give the guy a break
