Muzza got broken serving for the match, but broke Canas back immediately in the next game. Brilliant play by both!

Metz SF: Andy Murray def Willy Cañas 7-6 (2) 6-4

Impressive performance by Murray, served very well until the end where he couldn't serve it out.

Broke for the match, well played.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Best I've seen Murray play since his injury.

Typical choke attempt by Andy... losing breakpoints, serving for the match and being broken... but a win is a win anyway, I wish I would see a match between the two in march

Willy

Thrilling match with very good tennis from both players. Andy was too good on the serve however. Congrats to him

But I'm very glad to see Willy playing again the way I like it

Terrific performance from Andy until he served for it - excellent serving from him all day. 70% first serves winning 80% of the points behind them, or thereabouts.

He really played well - about as well as he has since Indian Wells, I think.

Man, I didn't realize how much I missed him. I'm thrilled that he seems to be back on form. Bring on Madrid.

Re: Metz SF: Andy Murray def Willy Cañas 7-6 (3) 6-4

Andy will be favourite for the final whoever he plays.

Both players knew each other prefered the pace to be on the ball and both of them weren't as hitting hard as they can. Murray was hitting some outstanding volleys and played it very well tactically.

I liked Andy's reaction when he was asked about England beating the Aussies in the rugby.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Hey Escude! Remember what you promised I'm pretty upset and I need to be comforted, so I suggest you put it on Youtube

Respectable performance from Willy. Like I've said, he's not going to get his form back until he takes a long break, but he still did very well this week, and I couldn't be happier.
