Malisse probably out for the rest of the season

Malisse lost yesterday his 1st round match at the Mons Challenger against Muller. After the match he told the press he already heard his knee crackin' during training a week ago. He said he could play, but only at 70 percent of his capacities.

He will take some rest and then he will decide if he will play again this season or if he will call it a day for this year. Xavier has planned to play 3 or 4 tournaments the following weeks, but he told it would maybe be better to look forward to next season.

Xavier Malisse & Kristof Vliegen & Olivier Rochus

Steve Darcis - Dick Norman - Christophe Rochus

Desein - Bemelmans - Masson - Mertens - Authom - Wauters

Re: Malisse probably out for the rest of the season

Xavi should take the year off, rest his knee up and then have a big off season fitness program and come back ready to play in 2008.

Even with the injury problems he has won 2 titles this season, and think about the "what ifs" of 2007.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Very entertaining player to watch...hope he comes back 100% fit. Might be best for him to call it quits this year...it's not as if there are many events left anyway.

Oh, not again
Hasn't he had enough injury problems already lately...

He better rest up long enough so he'll be back 100% next year.
He can enjoy the time off now with his new gf (ex Miss Belgium Joke Van de Velde)

His health is more important than any ranking points.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Malisse won two titles earlier this year and hopefully he can be fit in time to play at them at 100%.

Champions deserve whatever they win playing within the laws of the game

How sad to hear this yet again- hopefully he can heal up over a break in schedule. I agree with not playing for the remainder of this year. He needs to rest.
