Metz R1: "El Fashionista" Koubek beats down Simon 6-2 6-1

Excellent result for El Fashionista though the fact he let a 5-0 lead in the 1st set go was very disappointing, but he focused on the job and crushed Simple Simon.

Koubek's game when he is playing well is a bad match up for Simon as he won't give Simon the pace, so he has to generate his own power.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

This one is for Simple Simon and yes he is on the left.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Simon is a clown of the highest echelon. No surprise there.

Nicely done by Koubek. Aside from that minor blip near the end of the 1st set, he was in excellent form and that was emphatic indeed.

What a beatdown.

How in the hell did Simple Simon win Marseille earlier this year, it is pretty simalir conditions to Metz if I am not mistaken, He beat Hewitt, Bjorkman, Soderling and Baghdatis indoors without dropping a set

Not so surprising, it's a permanent rollercoaster with him, we're used to this kind of shocking results.

But this time, it seems that he also is injured. He's been having serious knee problems for a while now. I think it's true because he talked after the match about pulling out of the next tournaments. He says he wanted to play because it was in France.

But apparently, Koubek was playing really well too.

He left Bucharest with serious problems at his knee. He was in doubt even for the final in here.

Still embarassing. Shouldn't have played.
