So, let's talk Costa/Malisse

Anyone had a chance to see this match? While biting my nails over the latest M. Safin melodrama, I was also keeping track of Al & Mr. X's match on Court No. 1. Play was suspended @ 5-5 in the fourth set. Any thoughts on who will prevail tomorrow? The winner takes on Lil' Lleyton in the next round. That should be fun.

Re: So, let's talk Costa/Malisse

Xavier really played very well in the first set and he also played great in the beginning of the second but then he lost his concentration and Albert started playing great. The third was very close but he kinda lost his serve pretty dumb in the end.The tenth game of the 4th was great.Albert had two MP on Xaviers serve (15/40) and he played 4 great points.BH down the line after a great rally, ace, powerfull forehand crosscourt and a great volley.4 winners on a row,4great points on a row.I'm really looking forward to the second part today.I really got a feeling that if X can win this,he might go far in the tourney.
So gogo X

bad loss for the former french open champion, all credit to Malisse but Costa should have beaten him, was a great opportunity for him to go far this year.

Amazing match, amazing tension. Must be one of the best matches of the tournament (or I'm just biased).

Congrats Xavier!

Re: So, let's talk Costa/Malisse

If Malisse keeps his head where it belongs, that is on his shoulders, he can go very far. The talent is there, he is far more talented than a lot of players but so far, he has been a headcase.
WAY TO GO, XAVIER!

Gonna be a fun match to watch between Lleyton and Xavier. Whoever wins, I will be happy.

Re: So, let's talk Costa/Malisse

OK, so he didn't roll in the 5th but hearing that he fought his way through makes me so proud of him. Not only did he save MPs but he held his own focus for long enough to break Costa and win the match.

And to add to his already great day he & Ollie went out there and upset the #2 doubles team

Go Xavier!! Give yourself a SF!!

Re: So, let's talk Costa/Malisse

Aaaarrggghhhhh!!!! Malisse! Why is it that he is hopeless against a good 90% of players on tour but whenever he has to play someone I like he's adept at scraping through? Him and Hewitt together completely ruined Wimbledon for me a couple of years ago, and now I know one of them will be through to the quarters at RG. Can't they both lose somehow?

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.
