Henman v Blanco - who will win?

Will Britain's finest finally break his duck and reach the fourth round here for the first time?

Re: Henman v Blanco - who will win?

I know Blanco is Spanish, but is he one of those unknown clay-courter types who does all his best stuff on clay?

Yeah he somewhat of an unknown quantity and has his good days and his bad days. When they last played in 2002 (Henman won in straight sets) he was in the decline but now he is having a little resurgence so he is dangerous undoubtedly - especially dangerous as he has taken out Horna who has been red-hot recently.

hm interesting. Maybe they'll show it on ESPN b/c there probably won't be any Americans to show at the top of their coverage.

To me, it could go either way. I say this because Tim is ranked higher and has a great serve and volley game, but this is clay and Tim's weaker surface. But he's so good that it might not matter. Look at Pat Rafter. Then Galo on the other hand, hasn't played much or done well this year but this is clay and RG, and he's one of those people who's minds go into a different zone when it's their territory. lol. I'll be looking out for this match.

I'm predicting Blanco cos he's so wacky he can actually win a match sometimes when you least expect it... he's my dark darkhorse!!

Hopp Rogi! Go Gonzo! Allez Gasquet!

I think Galo will win, he's good on clay
and Henman, well, he's not bad either, but I think Blanco is better

I think Tim will take advantage of the rather open draw and defeat Blanco.
No Deja Vu this time please...

Awww if he loses this opportunity then next time i see him i will bitch - slap him!! Only joking - i would never hurt him. I would be well annoyed though!

Tim - i don't care how long you have to be on that court for, i don't care how many times times you have to serve with fluffy balls, i don't care how many times you have to call the trainer on to rub your aching muscles, you are damn well not coming off that court until you batter that Spaniard into the clay!!!

And he did win! 7-6 6-1 6-2. Well done Timbo

And a great win it was too. 19 aces, no less. Time for him on Sunday to do a number on Llodra like he did at Wimbledon last year; good chance this match will be on Chatrier.
