Re: Monfils d. Volandri 6-3 7-6(4)

How annoying that Monfils drew Volandri in the first round. I had Volandri in my fantasy team before the qualifiers got put in.

I guess there are no more claycourt events for Volandri to participate in now for the rest of the year.

Expected.

Monfils has played a couple of qualifiers so he was ready.

Re: Monfils d. Volandri 6-3 7-6(4)

Monfils served for the match at 6-5 and had 3 double faults in the game and he also lead 6-1 in the TB I think.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Machado wins 6-2 6-1

Allez Monfils!
Yes correct. Monfils got the job done. If it had gone to a 3rd set I think Volandri would have won because Monfils was spent.
The double faults were as a result of cramping hamstrings

"I had a contraction in my hamstrings and was cramping a little bit, so I just said to myself "it's alright, it's only one break" and after just play like your best weapons - the serve and forehand and was good."

Kinda typical match from Gael, who cancelled all the plans of a MVA-Volandri match up.

Congratulations to him, hopefully he can do well in here .

Oh please, get over it.

I think everyone knows that Filippo has featured in a few matches that have appeared to be fixed, but it's just negative and irrelevant to bring it up in every thread with his name in the title.

Gael believes that one day he might overtake Novak and get to number 1. Fighting talk.

Yeah, he's still too raw to get anywhere near the top 10 let alone no.1. Eh bien! As long as he has belief maybe he will get there in the end.

Allez Gael!
Gael has never been short of self belief. Best athlete of the tour, has a huge weapon with his serve now, if he can overcome his tactical flaws and some dubious technic around the net, why not. He could overpower the tour like Becker and the Williams sister did when they arrived.

But so far, it's just talk and I'm not sure he put all the hard work to reach his goals.

Re: Monfils d. Volandri 6-3 7-6(4)

Didnt Monfils also say, last year, that he would win one GS this year?! At least Novak now is doing more talk with his racket ...

ROGER FEDERER

COME ON MURRAY!
Andy Murray: USO champion! Roger Federer: LEGEND!

2012: A reminder to all of those who said Murray would never win a GS and that Federer was done winning GS titles!
