Many French guys are still in the draw!!!

could this be French year???

Q. As the older player, you don't feel like it's your role to go up to the younger players and talk to them first?

Re: Many French guys are still in the draw!!!

They've done well for themselves but the mass of the Frenchies will begin in the 3rd round. There are 5 surviving in the bottom half of the draw, of which 2 have to go automatically. Of the two definitely surviving, 1 of them has to play Blanco/Henman and the other Corretja/Chela. I can't see either Frenchie surviving those matches. The only other one is Escude and plays the in-form Youzhny. Escude lost his last match with Youzhny and given Youzhny's good form on the clay so far, i'd give the Russian the edge.

As for the top half, as of the second round there are 3 Frenchies left - Patience, Grosjean and Benneteau. Patience has already gone and if Grosjean goes behind in his match then Starace will be the favourite to take it. Besides, i don't think Grosjean could survive a 4th round encounter with Nalbandian. As for Benneteau, I doubt he;d survive a 3rd round encounter with Ferrero unless a miracle happens.

Overall, I reckon no Frenchies survive past the 4th round.

Yes, I am very happy with this, especially because they are all good looking. That Mutis. He looks like a Colin Farell. It's a shame that Santoro and Clement had to play R1. I wanted Santoro to win, but Clément is fun to look at. So is Santoro, so its all good. Ha, anyway, it was a very dramatic match just 'cause all the shit the commentators were talking about?!...

Are they really having bad blood with one another?!

With each passing season, I discover new reason
SAMPRAS --> Rios --> KUERTEN --> Kafelnikov -->
Federer --> Hewitt --> RODDICK --> GONZALEZ -->
NALBANDIAN --> Benneteau --> Davydenko --> Mathieu -->
TURSUNOV --> Mantilla --> KIEFER --> NADAL -->
Karlovic --> Odesnik --> Stepanek --> Monfils -->
??
