Juan Carlos defeats Tommy Haas 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-2!!!!

Yay... Juanqui overcame injury to win this match....the record of no defending champion has lost in the 1st round is still intact...

Q. As the older player, you don't feel like it's your role to go up to the younger players and talk to them first?

JEFF TARANGO: To say what? "Welcome to the locker room. Don't bend over for the soap."

I'm just curious how much he was really bothered by his injury. Cuz for a guy who only practiced a little for one week, he had some damn good points.
Aah well.. anyway: Juanqui I hope your body doesn't collapse in your next match Vamos!
Tommy what did you do after that first set?

Congrats to Ferrero, good win,

but I'm pissed at the Television coverage that DID NOT show this match live!

Don't be deceived by the rankings!! Coria, Roddick, Mirnyi, Schuettler, Fish, Safin, Henman, Tursunov, Ljubicic, Bovina, Li Na, Ivanovic, Chan YJ, Dementieva, Vinci, Sugiyama, Coetzer, Tanasugarn, Vaidisova, Zheng, Dokic and Kournikova are the world's best tennis players in the world!!!

Thumbs up Re: Juan Carlos defeats Tommy Haas 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-2!!!!

Juan Carlos really knew he was fit to play then. It was a bit scary that Haas was his 1st round opponent, but JCF won that match pretty easily, better than a draining five-setter! That's a sign of a champion, winning when you're not at your best or best shape. Congrats to Juan Carlos for playing and winning this match!

After the last injury he has a great top form , if he win one or two more matches he will be more and more dangerous..

Good luck to: Rafael Nadal, Kristof Vliegen, Adreas Seppi and Guillermo García-López
