Sebastien played some blinding tennis!

It's a shame for me, that two of these guys had to come toghether so early on. Both not having the best of time this year, but experiencing a good week here, Mirnyi can take confidence out of just that match with Baghdatis, he played some good tennis, and tennis we haven't seen from him this year.

Re: Grosjean def. Mirnyi 6-4, 6-7(6-8), 6-4, 6-3

I thought this one had already been posted, evidently not. Mirnyi saved a setpoint in the tiebreak but blew a break lead in the third, I didn't see that so I wonder what happened. Although his second serve was being picked apart in the fourth set which I saw, so that might explain it.

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

When Seb is on song his tennis is simply stunning and breathtaking to watch. It's great to hear that he played well today

Would have loved to see this match.

As weird as it is, that's only the third time in his career Seb goes through the 2nd round here, and he'll play for his first R16 vs Haas.

I had almost forgotten about Grosjean, to be honest. Nice to see him do well (although I always enjoy seeing Miryni play too).

I saw only 4th set - Mirnyi looked very tired.

Big Max just collapsed midway in the 3rd set. Serve went and seemed a bit tired

YEEAAHHH!!! GROSJEAN FOREHAND!!!!!! If he can go past tommy haas i believe he'll gain so much confidence that he'll keep winning till he gets to the quarters or semis. When he's at his best his forehand = close to simply unstoppable

Tommy Haas: Leng Jai

What a great result for Grosjean Have to admit if I'd been asked which single Frenchman would progress to the next round out of the six that played (or were meant to) yesterday, he wouldn't have been my first choice... Too bad for Mirnyi after his great effort against Baggy but hope to see the Beast make more noise in future tournaments
