were Ljubicic and Berdych practicing with Canas? or did Canas come to court later because he had the court next?

here's the order of play today on Grandstand court:
nadia petrova practiced with her coach.
canas came out after petrova to practice with his hitting partner (coach?)
ljubo and berdych hit together next.
ryan sweeting & some dude i didn't recognize played next. they were entertaining.
richard gasquet & sebastian grosjean took the court after.
david nalbandian practiced with his coach a bit and canas came back on to the court to hit w/ nalby.

i wasn't at Louis Armstrong court for that long. i checked in early in the morning and saw Rafa playing there with his hitting partner. then went back in the late afternoon to watch Roger and Tim play.

i have to say, i was most impressed by guillermo today because he was very entertaining (had some great rallies going. lotsa power.) and he was also very nice and interactive with the fans. i said hola guillermo and he said hi back. he seems like a cool person.

Re: My US Open pics taken 8/24/07

Oh, Willy Canas. What yummy thighs you have.

It's funny you say that about Canas being entertaining. I noticed that in Cincinnati, he came out while Nalbandian was practicing with Safin and hit with Nalbandian after Safin was done. Lots of very powerful rallies, more intense than most of the practices I saw. The crowd got more into those than the others. Though the ones with a couple of players rather than a player and his coach were, naturally, a little more intense in general. The Ljubicic/Berdych practice in Cincy was, too.

Thanks for the pictures!

after Ivan won his first round match in Cincy, i guess Berdych was passing by the court and on way out when Ivan was signing autos, Berdych was pretending to be a fan and gave Ljubo a cap to sign

Nadal's knee still wrapped

I bet his team regrets letting him play that clay tournament after Wimbledon.

I get the feeling it's mostly a precaution for the hard courts.
