Perfect thread Fonsie. That's very true, grass tennis is dead.

Re: Not grass tennis anymore on wimby

that is very true, but i saw Canas vs Hewit on court 18 and the bounce was lower than on central court
maybe the bounce on secondary courts is lower than on main courts

Yes true. There will never be another Sampras/Becker/Edberg/Rafter/Ivanisevic/Krajicek/Stich/Martin/Henman era at Wimbledon. That was gold, Wimbledon's finest moments.

Re: Not grass tennis anymore on wimby

I agree Fonsie, you can tell by the wear on the courts, it's all along the baseline and hardly anything near the net. It's really sad... (but JCF sure gave it a good effort, is this his new game?)

Best twitter posts of the epic match:

@dougrobson - Whoever is supplying Mahut with hair gel needs to ink a sponsorship deal now.

@Wimbledon - FYI, with @Wimbledon live scoring devices, please add 50 to the games in the fifth set of the Isner v Mahut match.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.

It's still too high. Before the ball never bounced higher than the players' knees.

Re: Not grass tennis anymore on wimby

There's nothing against baseliners, but Wimbledon was supposed to be a time for netplayers, not grinders and moonballers. They managed to ruin Wimbledon.

ITA.. The matches are getting boring actually. Long rallies are seen everywhere instead of crispy serve-and-volley

Completely agree. Wimbledon matches should be lasting five hours unless it's 30 all in the fifth. I don't like to see grinding on grass.

Coming from a clown like you, expected answer. Next time you're gonna say the Roids Diva is better than Sampras.
