I feel for berdych

I feel for him, his game is affected by the wind. Credit to him for not complaing and credit to Nadal for playing good.

If the conditions is like this then he`ll win Wimbledon for sure. The wind does not affect his game so much.

Too bad about the match....quite booring

He can't really complain about it. Wind is part of the game.

Re: I feel for berdych

Feel what for him? It's not like it's just him being affected by the wind.

Rafael has actually managed to make adjustments to his game to accommodate the wind such as use a particularly whippy serve, or just play it safe (see hawkeye stats). If Berdych, or anyone else for that matter can't make the adjustments, then he's not ready to be a champion.

Re: I feel for berdych

I always thought the wind would affect Nadal. But I'm no expert and Rafa has definitely handled the conditions better today.

Economy of shot-making maybe? Rafa has been able to adjust his strokes to compensate for the wind-something Berdych has not been able to do at this point.

Talk to the hand because the ears don't hear you.

Nadal's game has a lot more margin for error, a lot of topspin to keep the ball in court with great depth. Berdych's game is more hit and miss. He plays well when he has the opportunity to use big penetrating strokes to dictate the play with. A lot of the times when he tried to do it in these conditions with Nadal's depth and spin he ended up missing many shots and just could not cope with the conditions as wel as Nadal.

Re: I feel for berdych

I doubt the wind is only blowing on Tomas' side of the court. The grudge match is a dud. Bah. I expected at least a 4-setter.

Rafa 'can't play on grass' Nadal destroys Tomas 'piggy roaster' Berdych 7-6 6-4 6-2

Absolutely fantastic display from Rafa in very tough windy conditions.

Served brilliantly, hit his forehand as well as he can and showed some delightful touches at the net.

Berdych was very disappointing, all he did was moan about the wind.

Seems like Rafa thrives on making people eat their words. I'm sure he has convinced everyone that he can play on grass now, I expect the compliments to come flooding in, especially from Mr Mirnyi and Byrd

Re: I feel for berdych

His game is less affected by the win because he hits a low flat ball.

Didn't expect this at all. I voted for Berdych looking at the matchup in 4 but very very good from Rafa. Suck it down, haters. I'm still giving the title to Roger, though.

Re: I feel for berdych

Is this the best excuse you can find?

Seriously, Nadal is playing Berdych around, Berdych should play better, he can play better. But his brain is fcked up after the 1st set.

Piggy sends the Golden Roaster home hungry 7-6,6-4,6-2

Kudos to Rafa- he played very very well, dictated play, always in control of the baseline rallies. He did not let Tomas really get into any rythm and the only thing that kept it relatively close was Berdych's serves.

He proved to be more versatile and flexible, successfully handling the tricky windy conditions. His first serve % was simply outstanding, some of his returns were magnificent.

All in all a clinical display from the world #2. Just too good
