Djokovic, Baghdatis, Nadal, Berdych and Gasquet in QF

It seems that the new generation has taken over. Not to mention Murray who would have probably been far if not for his injury.

Best slam of the youngster so far. Only two of them were in the top10 at the start of the tournament.

Great to see Berdych and Gasquet make a slam QF at last - it's been a good tournament for the young guns with Berdych taking out some good players, Gasquet despatching the French contingent almost single-handedly, and Djokovic showing amazing heart and courage to win over Hewitt and avenge that disappointing showing at the US Open last year against him.

Shame Murray couldn't be healthy and here, but there we go. It's another step forward for the new new balls please.

I was just reflecting on this fact. It is indeed nice to see all of them make the QFs.

Yes, I was just thinking how 5 of the final 8 are Baby Balls. And finally first-time GS QFs for Berdych and Gasquet! I'm most impressed by Djokovic because I didn't think he would be able to beat Hewitt on grass.

And the three old dudes.

This is good to see though. Hopefully they can keep up this kind of level of play.

And Djokovic, Baghdatis and Nadal all beat players of Roger's generation in their 4th round matches. At least the Old Balls are guaranteed one semifinal spot in Fed vs Ferrero (probably two as it's unlikely Richard will beat Roddick ).

Roger Federer

Richard Gasquet, Marcos Baghdatis, Tomas Berdych, Evgeny Korolev, Stanislas Wawrinka, Fabrice Santoro, Paul-Henri Mathieu, etc
.

Actually Gasquet is 21, Birdshit is 22. How are they baby balls? That's a mature tennis age. Now if we had some 17-18 year olds in the QFs go ahead and label them Baby Balls.

Awww. I'm having nostalgia for the Late 2004-Early 2005 "Hewitt/Roddick/Federer/Safin Four Way Dance Of Doom" times. And then Nadal came and turned everything upside down.
