Abolish 2nd serve?

During Wimbledon's rain delay, they showed Federer at an interactive tennis museum. There was this computer survey thing, and he was doing it. One of the questions was: Experts say the second serve should be abolished. Do you agree?

He chose NO. Sorry if it's been discussed already, but what do you all think? Has there been a debate between tennis experts about it?

In my opinion, the second serve should stay. No one is perfect, so people should usually get a second chance- I feel that should be carried into tennis. I was surprised to see that question, and I think Federer was surprised too.

My first thread. You are tigers and I'm a newborn kitten, so please be gentle.

I Nadal. Serena Williams. Venus Williams

Like: Haas. Tsonga. Kiefer. Bartoli. Mirza. Zheng. Bolleli. Safina. Mauresmo. Monfils. Jie. Jamie Murray.

Hate: Djokovic. Lubjicic. Sharapova. Andy Murray. Dementieva. Soderling.

Re: Abolish 2nd serve?

Is that you Pippo Volandri?

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Abolish 2nd serve?

I think Nalbandian would be nr1 if that would happen, with his return of 2nd serves and his poor 1st serve neutralized he would maybe be the greatest tennis player in the world.

Yes - anything to make those matches shorter. Doubles is great guinea pig for all the crap suggestions in tennis, like the "super" tiebreaker

Gewehre wegwerfen!

I am trapped.

10-15 years ago this question was valid, not anymore.

I don't like hypocrites, but even worse are the ones who think it's OK to be an asshole as long as you are not hypocritical.

Re: Abolish 2nd serve?

How about they just start playing Volleyaball!

there is no way the players will be able to hold serve as easy as it is now.

2nd serve is just part of tennis and should never be removed!
