Re: WImbledon commits the greatest stupidity-ok one of many!

Allowing two 4th round women's matches to be played before the men completed their 3rd round matches was insanity. Brad Gilbert was right for once, the men should have all been first on, they play best of 5 matches and it's more important for them not to get too far behind.

It's stupid that two women are in the quarterfinals when many of the men haven't even finished their 3rd round matches yet.

The rain is back meaning that going into Tuesday of the second week and Nadal, Hewitt, Davydenko, and Djokovic have yet to finish their third round matches. While Serena, Henin, and Krajicek are in the Quarter Finals already. Not to mention there is still one more Men's doubles 1st round that hasn't been played and Mixed Doubles are in the first round still. Would it of hurt if Sunday was dedicated to finishing Men's 3rd round, and getting all doubles into the round of 16.

It was a rather :retard: decision. I'd like for whoever was in charge to come out and answer some questions as to what they were -ing. Surely they couldn't possibly answer by saying they simply wanted to follow tradition.....

Always on the lookout for a great tennis match.

I'm so sick of hearing tradition is the reason. If they were so into tradition they wouldn't be building a roof and they wouldn't have hawkeye. There has got to be point where that is not an excuse anymore. They had a beautiful day yesterday and you are right I would like to know the reason why they didn't play. Poor Nadal if he can get through the 5th set tomorrow will have to play 5 matches in 6 days. I think they are going to have to push the tourament back to Monday and maybe moving the doubles starting in the round of 16 to best of 5.

I also think it's amazing that Davydenko didn't get on to finish his match... I mean, they came back for over an hour, but he never made it back on court. That's ridiculous. The first court they got ready for center... where they were playing 4th round matches. :retard:

Yeah, couldn't they send Davy and Monfils into just any other court. I am sure not all the courts were used.

Players who make me...
:Federer - Davydenko - FitDave - Cilic
:Safin - Monfils - Non-Slam Federer.
:Nadal - Roddick - Murray

I'm surprised they didn't find some way to get a Brit to take Haas's place.

Re: WImbledon commits the greatest stupidity-ok one of many!

"9.27 pm: Evening all – still out there? The schedule for tomorrow has yet to be released, but to reassure Erica from Kansas City, players won’t have to play twice in one day. Tomorrow, the last four men’s third round ties will be played, the six remaining ladies’ fourth ties and some of the men’s fourth round too (Ferrero – Tipsarevic, Roddick –Mathieu and Gasquet – Tsonga).

Wednesday we’ll have the men’s fourth round from the bottom half of the draw, a couple of men’s top half quarters and the ladies’ quarters. Thursday – bottom half men’s quarters and ladies’ semis: Friday – men’s semis: Saturday is the ladies’ final and Sunday the men’s."

That means a person like Djokovic has to play at least 2 sets tomorrow, and best of 5 on Weds, Thurs, and Friday. It really isn't fair they need to move the tourament back to Monday to give the bottom half a little break. Does Federer really need to have even more of an advantage going to the final? It will be like the Ferrero-Roddick final in the US Open where Ferrero was literally gased in the final.

I agree with you and I think not playing on Sunday was :retard:, but Federer had no control over Haas withdrawing. Had that not happened he'd be in the same boat as all the other guys in the top half and considering it might rain tomorrow they could be really screwed too, just not as much as the bottom half.

I didn't mean it as a slap to Roger. More like that he is going to be in the final and probably win it regardless. It would be nice not to have someone dragging on the court and make it a little competitive to watch.

The schedule is out and they are once again making the Women's fourth round their priority. They have Jankovic and Bartoli playing on Court 1 before the Nadal and Soderling finale. Court 2 has Ivanovic and Petrova before the Djokovic and Kiefer finale. I thought it would make the most sense to get these guys off the court ASAP and give them some rest especially if more rain is expected tomorrow. Then again it is Wimbledon they haven't made sense all tourament.

And the idiocy intensifies. They did it again. Putting the whole 4th round women's matches before men's 3rd round completion. Given that by the weather forecast they will be lucky to get a couple of hours of court time tomorrow, if any at all, they are really pushing men's third round into Wednesday, and that's given that in the Djokovic and Hewitt matches there could still be several hours of tennis to be played.. I am really impressed now..

Women can play 5 days in a row if need be as some of them do anyway on a week to week basis. They needed to get as many men's matches in as possible and they didn't.

Wimbledon is a joke.

Abolish this retarded tourny already.

Unbelievable! They even put a 4th round men's match first up, and it will be finished before the rest of the 3rd round. How can they be so stupid? This is outrageous, the players who are being dumped on like this should do something.
