Nadal Interviews

I like reading nadal's interviews and I notice the word "illusion" shows up frequently. For ex. IIRC sometimes he says he has to practice with the best "illusion". What is he talking about?

Re: Nadal Interviews

During his offtime, Nadal often hangs out with David Blaine and Criss Angel....he is readying himself for his career after tennis as an illusionist.

Smile Re: Nadal Interviews

A moment of inspiration: I think in his interviews Nadal really means to say "dream" instead of "illusion". I e-mailed the london newspaper where he is blogging suggesting the correction.

Thanks for the responses. Vamos RafaeL!

Re: Nadal Interviews

I think in Spanish the word also means something along the lines of "enjoyment" or "enjoying doing something". I am not 100% sure though. Maybe a Spaniard can provide the correct equivalent in English.

In that case, Nadal winning Wimbledon is an illusion.

Re: Nadal Interviews

ILUSION in Spain is not the same thing as ILLUSION in English, but most people don't know that.
sthe word ILUSION means hopes, high expectations, something positive.

RAfa thinks that there is a literal translation from the spanish word to the english one which sounds alike but doesn't quite mean the same thing.

Re: Nadal Interviews

Maybe the best one word translation would be hope, but I think it should be translated to 'I'm looking forward to ....'
