quite pathetic actually to mount a comeback and then lose the 5th set like that to a girl...

What a letdown, I was hoping for some Henman miracles this year.

Feliciano raised his game in comparison to the third and fourth and Timmy had no reply. Maybe he thought he had it in the bag.

Lopez apologised to the crowd after the match.

I don't understand how Henman can play so great in the 3rd and 4th and then fold like a cheap hooker in the 5th.

Yeah, he had all the momentum on his side but couldn't take full advantage of it, that cost him the match.

Tim

He had the match but let it slip at the beginning of the 5th.

Lopez must've made 5 out of about 70 backhand passes, it was quite pathetic at times. He served well though and volleyed fairly nicely, which basically won him the match.

R2: Lopez def. Henman 7-6(3) 7-6(5) 3-6 2-6 6-1

No way was Henman going to win two consecutive 5-setters playing 4 days in a row.
Lopez lead by a break of serve (2-0) in the third set but then strayed away for an hour or so. A toilet break before the decider helped him regroup and there was no looking back from there. Henman was probably feeling the heat after dropping serve in the fifth and you just knew he wasn't going to come back this time. He looked mightily disappointed, and so did the crowd. But it was good entertainment.

Stats (Winners - UFEs)

Henman: 59 - 22
Lopez: 55 - 26

Expected win by Lopez.

I must say Lopez made me sick with his tennis in the 3rd and 4th set, but with that solid 5th set I can forgive him.

Lopez only lost 1 point on serve in the 5th set and it was on a double

Oh Tim.

I honestly thought Lopez would fold after losing two sets in an hour, but the opposite happened. Sniff.
