Re: Safin d. Delic 2-6 6-3 6-4

Yeah, it was almost like a hard court match. Short rallies and not many breaks.

Delic should have won but he started spraying his FH all over the place. After that crucial game at 3-3 in the 2nd, Marat won 5 games in a row and that was that.

I watched the 1st set. Delic should have won, but of course, he wouldn't make winners all the time like during the first set.

Re: Safin d. Delic 2-6 6-3 6-4

I'm really impressed with Delic's level, He can play quite well; He would have done better if his FH would have been there, I mean, so many FH UEs

Congrats to Safin

Re: Safin d. Delic 2-6 6-3 6-4

Marat didnt play badly set 2 and 3. He did enough to win and didnt hit long or make horrendous errors as he so often does. And yes, it looked like Korikova with newly dyed black hair.

Re: Safin d. Delic 2-6 6-3 6-4

In the first set it was all about Delic - he's got a potential when it comes to winning short points. Great serve and aggressive style should do well on faster surfaces, but still it was impressive vs Marat.

Safin's struggling with his own mind, as usual. At the begining couldn't focus for a longer period of time, lacked the power too.
Not a great performance, but the score counts. As a fan I'm happy, but I expect a lot more from him, or else he'll struggle in the next round (vs Kolya - not many chances) as well. Then he seems like burnout at the age of 27...

I too am happy for a win, but it is telling when Marat has to literally hope that his opponent will hand the match to him. (smh)
