Masters Series TV for Monte Carlo

Has anyone been using the service? How has it been working? I remember reading in the past it was having various problems and subscribers were watching black screens or constantly waiting through buffer delays.

Also, if the Federer / Nadal match happens, how do you guys think it will work for that match? There will be quite a few people watching. Will it be able to handle the load or will it be more delays and frustration?

Please respond only if you have actual experience with Masters TV. Also, please confine your comments to how well the service works. We are all aware it does not work for Macs. We are all aware that it is too expensive, etc. I am only interested in:

1) How well the service has been working

2) How well it will potentially work during a Federer / Nadal finals.

Finally, as an addemdum the #2, I am aware that Federer sucks and Nadal sucks and neither will make the finals. Please leave those comments in other threads.

Thanks,

Re: Masters Series TV for Monte Carlo

The Masters Series Streaming has been working much better for me this year! I have not had a single issue with it. I expected to after the fits it had last year, but I have been pleasantly surprised. All the issues they have had last year seem to be gone.

The biggest issue last year seemed to happen when I switch viewing computers (usually from weekdays to weekends), I would have licensing issues or what not. This year has been marked by smooth transitions and good streaming. I do not see any reason why the Nadal v Federer final would be any exception (assuming those hacks make it that far *g*).

Re: Masters Series TV for Monte Carlo

i ordered it for miami and it was pretty good. i didnt have it back in 06 so i cant comment on the the service back then.

but i chose not to order it for monte carlo because ive seen the quality when it watched the highlights of the monte carlo final when i ordered indy. it seemed to me as if the ball cant be seen that clearly due to the surface. i just couldnt follow the rallies because i couldnt see the ball properly.

and reading what some of you have posted during the last couple of days, it seems like its been a wise decision. its not worth the money for clay events. for harcourt though: perfect!

It is working great but it isnt very easy to see the ball. I mean the quality of the stream is good and there were no problems in Miami or Indian Wells. Just so you know that on the clay this is often a problem on the computer.

Re: Masters Series TV for Monte Carlo

I got it - the whole year - in time for Indian Wells and it worked perfectly for that and for Miami.

This week I had trouble with it (showing jerky stills rather than a smooth picture, sound breaking up etc) at the start of the week. However today it was working perfectly - although I did follow their advice and switch to "MED" rather than "HIGH".

Monte Carlo is a special case though. I just checked the Rome highlights video between Roddick and Baghdatis which I got from the atpmastersseries.tv site. You can see clearly see the ball. And I think Hamburg is similar. So yeah, Monte Carlo sucks in that regard.

Yeah maybe you are right. Because I remember watching highlights last year from Hamburg and having no problem seeing the ball.
