Fed def. Lee 6/4, 6/3

Still not top, but I'm happier with what he showed today compared to his first match. Especially during the second set.

Much better in all departments...though hard to read a lot into it - he will be pushed a lot harder against Ferrer and then we'll get a true idea of his level on clay against real opposition this year.

Lee did his best but didn't have the firepower and Roger was much less stingy with the errors today.

This is more like it. The beginning was horrible, but the 2nd set was solid. Nothing spectacular but he's on the right track.

25 winners, 24 UEs. Not too good, but at least more winners than errors.

Quite an enjoyable match to watch, majorly because it looked more like an hardcourt match.

I'm not sure yet what to make of his match with Ferrer, but I think it will be a tough one.

I have to add that in one perspective he played in his usual manner. Serving really bad to 0-40 and then catching up again without any problem to get the game.
My nerves.

Alas, wasn't able to watch this match...

I understand Rogi was in better form than Tuesday (well, that's not too demanding I daresay) - at least that's a comforting thought.

Good going Rog. Would have been happier if it was 6:1, 6:2 - but it's a better match, and no Nole in next round, either.

The match against Ferrer would be hard, but Roger won't lose.

good rog...interisting match against Ferrer I think. I think Ferrer is a bit underrated espacially on clay

Very good match by Roger, increasingly better performance this time and preferably even better by the next one!

Re: Fed def. Lee 6/4, 6/3

Getting better but.... Ferrer on clay will be a truer litmus test of his form on the surface.

Last year Roger beat him very convincingly 6-1,6-4 at this stage. If he can repeat that performance remains to be seen.

Wish I would have seen this one- all accounts say he played a better match today, it seems. Good for him to clean it up a bit.
