Nobody said it was easy. This is why he is a professional player in the top 100. And he wasn't robbed in 15/20 points. There were 4/5 really terrible calls, the other ones Sousa just complained because of the previous bad calling. There was one where he threw a huge tantrum because he thought the ball was out when it was right on the line.

Bad calling like this is like a tradition on Davis Cup. It happens on every tie played on indoor hard. This is nothing compared with when Belarus was in the World Group with Mirnyi and Voltchkov. Those were the days of shameless robbery!

Bottom Line: Sousa is a MUCH BETTER player than Albot. He was comfortable with the bad line calling until he was up two sets and a break. Then, he got tight, choked and lost his cool with the line calling.

PORTUGUESE ARMADA!!!

Three overrules in a row! Is this some kind of a record?

Lol? Never. You saw the last game? Another decisive point and another awful call. I'm seriously when I talk about 20 points.

I know it is usual on DC, but this is awful. I follow the circuit at almost 10 years and I never saw anything like this. Seriously...

We all know that Sousa is better, but this Davis Cup. Albot is at his VERY BEST and João Sousa just can't run, he's so far away. Phisically he just can't.

There wasnt't 20 errors. There were 5/10 outright horrible calls + 5/10 very questionable decisions that could have gone either way. There was more shocking bad calling, but they were overruled by the umpire, so Sousa still won those points.

If Sousa can't do it physically, it's because our brilliant captain decided to put him playing three days in a row. From what I've seen from the doubles match, any Portuguese duo combination would have beaten those two Moldovan mugs in straight sets.

Now it's up to praying that Gastão is fit enough to beat Dubarenko.

You're joking, right? Pedro Sousa isn't at 100% yet and Rui Machado told to Pedro that can't support a 5th set. Don't talk about you don't know, seriously.

LOL This match is one for the books. The line judges are the worst I ever saw. The crowd got a point penalty for their team and it should be much much sooner. Joao Sousa chokes mentally in unreal levels. Hopefully Gastao isn't shitting his pants. He is much much better than dubarenco.

EDIT: The crowd point penalty was in a MP for Moldova

Not fit enough to play men's doubles? Really? Against those poor Moldovan guys that couldn't hit a proper volley?

If Machado isn't fit enough to play a doubles match, what the hell is he doing in Moldova anyway?

You guys can't paint the situation the way you wanted.

Bottom line: João was up 6-3 6-3 2-0. With the bad line calling. He choked time and time again. Pure and simple.

Because there isn't anyone to call to Machado's place. At least for a tie so important like this.

And Portugal knew that must bet everything on the doubles match. Sousa/Elias is our best double by far, they know each other.

Better pusher won.

Dubarenco and the line judges should destroy Elias now, Moldova has imo 75% chance of winning this tie.

Copil || Wawrinka || Ungur || Horia Tecău || Crivoi || Gulbis || Ciorcilă || Dolgopolov || Gombos || Hănescu || Fognini || Carreno-Busta || Dustin Brown || Olivetti || Andreozzi || Clezar || Gojowczyk || Kovalik || Duckworth || Tommy Haas || Arnaboldi || Sam Groth || Dodig || Semrajc || Dan Evans || Berankis || Bozoljac || Trevisan || Couacaud || Blaz Rola || Rosol

DISLIKE LIST: Nadal || Tomic || J.Sousa || Ferrer || Riba || Jimmy Wang || Brands || Granollers || Berdych || Robredo || Stakhovsky || Laaksonen || Veic || Bagnis || Stepanek || Janowicz || Lopez-Perez || Marchenko || Olivo || Fucsovics || Ignatik

Moldova needed to win that doubles match as much as we did. They still sent those two mugs instead of Albot and Dubarenko. They saved them for Sunday, while we have a tired Elias and Sousa for Sunday.

Either Gastão wins this match rather quickly or he's going down in a long 4-setter/5-setter.

I don't think Elias can beat Dubarenco he was bad on Friday.

Two mugs? One of them bets everything on the doubles circuit. Again, you keep talking without know.

They're clearly worse than Dubarenco and Albot being a doubles specialist doesn't mean he's better than them. If Sweden had Soderling it would obviously be better to play with him in doubles instead of Brunstrom who also wins a lot in challengers and has decent results.

Dude, the "doubles specialist" Ciumac is ranked #406 in the doubles rankings. He is 0-3 this season at challenger level in doubles. Not even a win!

Are you fucking kidding me?

And by the way, so Machado couldn't play doubles, but he can play the 5th rubber?
