Rome: Stats & Stuff

Rome is the oldest Masters Series event, first played in 1930. The following are stats for the Open era.

Current Champion: Felix Mantilla

Rome is the house of: THOMAS MUSTER. The Austrian is the only player in Open history to win it 3 times, '90, '95, '96.

2-time Champions:
Jim Courier USA '92, '93
Ivan Lendl USA '86, '88
Vitas Geralitus USA, '77, '79
Bjorn Borg SWE, '74 '78

This tournament has been dominated by the Americans, who have won it 9 times since 1973. The last American to win it was Andre Agassi in 2002.

The last player to win this tournament and to win Roland Garros was Thomas Muster, in 1995.
