2013 Davis Cup
Great Britain have completed a memorable combeack from 2-0 down to Russia in Coventry to make the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group play-offs.
The remaining three World Group play-off spots have been filled by Netherlands, Poland and Ukraine.
Poland will make their first appearance in the World Group play-offs in September after they overcame South Africa 3-1 in Zielona Gora.
World No. 24 Jerzy Janowicz, who has been suffering from flu for the last few days, scored his second point of the weekend with a 46 63 63 61 victory over Ruan Roelofse on Sunday. Roelofse was a last minute replacement for Rik de Voest, who was suffering from a lower back injury.
“I didn’t expect a change in the match line up,” explained Janowicz. “Ruan played an excellent first set. I was not feeling well - to be honest I felt horrible, even worse than on Friday. I finally regained my serve as the match went on and tried to dictate the rallies. The crowd helped me a lot, gave me some energy.”
