If that was the first offence of this kind I would give them the benefit of the doubt...
If you want to throw the book at them, assume that they picked all matches played between the original post and the ammendment and give them 0 points for those matches...
there's no need to disqualify picks from previous days in which no offence was committed...
Well , I didnt see her picks , I also think there's no need to disqualify all of the picks , the picks that are in a post that has not been changed should be granted if you ask me .

Re: PAW ATP Managers Thread

First of all the decision about dicqualification was actually made unanimously, and only 4 people were taking active part in the discussion. It's a shame but there weren't any other suggestions.
Second of all, is there somewhere any information on what should be done in such situation?
My suggestion was:

I think that making the situation clear will help us avoid such problems in the future.

Oh, and one more thing, why the people most interested in the subject - that is those disqualified ones - comment nothing at all?

I think it is good as you say to leave the player with the points he won until this happen .

Re: PAW ATP Managers Thread

I am not sure if there's a rule or not about this issue.

In wtaworld, there was few cases before that someone deleted their posts because of incorrect picks, and it's caught by the manager and the player was disqualified from playing PAW for 3 months (from memory).

In my opinion, how to handle this case really depends on whether someone know the original paws before got edited. I usually updated the pick summary regularly, and hopefully before the play begin, that way if the posts that were posted before the matches started in that day got edited, I will know what were the original paws.

Of course the managers won't necessary have the time to update the picks regularly, in that case (if we don't know the original post), I will say if the post was edited after the matches for that day have been played, then the players should be disqualified from the tournament (whether to disqualify from playing certain period or not, still need to be discussed between managers).

If the posts were edited before the matches for the day have started, then I will usually just reminded the player not to do that anymore. In this case, because the post gets edited before it's started, then we can't see any cheating taken place.

There need to be strict rule about this. To sum up what I say before, here is my suggestion:

In the case a post has been edited, the following rules should be applied:

* If the post is edited before the first match of the day started, then the manager should warn the player not to edit the post anymore in the future. The player can still continue playing the tournament, and the post that got edited will be valid. If the player disregards the manager's warning, then the manager deserves the right to disqualify the player from that tournament.

* If the post is edited after the first match of the day started, the player will be disqualified from the tournament straight away. All his/her other picks will be disregarded. If the player has had done the same before, he/she will be restricted to play PAW for 3 months. Same rule will apply to those who has deleted their posts after the first match of the day has started.

Re: PAW ATP Managers Thread

One other thing:

I believe we should disqualiy the player straight away from playing that tournament if he/she edited/deleted the post after the match has been played. We need a strict rule about this, otherwise, more & more players will try to do this and hoping they can get away with it. If the only punishment to them is to disregard that edited post and we still count the other post, then they won't learn from their mistake (whether intentionally or not), and I afraid this will encourage people to start cheating.

Re: PAW ATP Managers Thread

I have a quick question about calculations - one of the wildcards has 5 points in the ATP ranking. I seem to remember that when calculating scoring points all players are assumed to have 20 or more. Is that right?

Re: PAW ATP Managers Thread

In case of unranked player or a player who has less than 20 ranking pts, he is allocated 20 pts for the calculation of PAW scoring points.

Re: PAW ATP Managers Thread

I am supposed to do Acapulco. About a week ago I noticed that Lt Alonzo wanted to manage a tournament, and suggested him to do it, but he never replied... I guess I'll have to do it after all...
